The elegance and aesthetics of Tenuta di Castellaro are represented by the extreme care of the greenery and the landscape that surrounds the property. At the edges of each vineyard thousands of caper plants have been planted, whose flower is a true work of art.
Among the fundamental ingredients of the Aeolian and Mediterranean cooking, caper buds and caper berries of Castellaro are available for sale in original shops and wooden boxes.
Every day new buds are born on plants: the bud is the part that is consumed as a "caper".
Our capers are the protagonists of the wonderful pate we offer for tasting and of the main representative dishes of the Aeolian: cunzato bread, salad and Aeolian pasta, accompanied by tuna and cherry tomatoes.
With a unique flavor, it is accompanied with aperitifs, appetizers and salads, but can also be tasted in fish-based sauces.
A work that is likely to get lost, which we, at Tenuta di Castellaro, keep alive: caper buds and caper berries are hand-picked, one by time, with a technique passed down from mother to daughter.
Capers, along with olives and grapes, are one of the ancestral fruits of the Aeolian Islands. Try them with our native wines
