Recently we had the opportunity to present the new vintages to the Wine Press, within the Sicilia En Primeur event, held between Taormina and Giarre-Etna and which saw the participation of many specialized journalists who came from all over the world to evaluate the better than Sicilian production.
It was also very nice to be able to host some of these in our cellar on the island of Lipari, where we registered great interest in the history of the project and in what the Estate represents today, within its volcanic-Mediterranean-island context.
In this sense we have noticed curiosity and wonder for the different volcanic soil of our vineyards on the plain of Castellaro, characterized by pumice stones, obsidian, kaolin, as well as lapilli and volcanic sand.
Something truly unique according to most.
Further down, a few tens of meters below the white grape vines that produce our Bianco Porticello and Bianco Pomice, the incredible polychromes of the Caolino Quarries were the setting for numerous photographic shots documenting the visit.
These days of meetings were also an opportunity to present the new Eúxenos wine to professionals, which attracted the attention of most even in the moments of tasting at the Radicepura nursery in Giarre, at the foot of Mt. Etna.
Curiosity was all for this dry and pure Malvasia delle Lipari, lightly macerated on the skins and aged in cocciopesto amphora, which we let the press taste for the first time and for the second time after Vinitaly at an oenological event.
The sensations and feedback have been very positive, and this is heartening and pushes us to do better and better, in view of the concept of contemporary craftsmanship with which the Estate has always moved and distinguished itself since the beginning of the project.
Eúxenos somewhat represents the closure of a perfect circle, in which the beginning and the end coincide: the repropagation with mass selection of Malvasia delle Lipari represented the beginning of our journey in Lipari.
Today with Eúxenos we conclude that experience by relaunching it with a wine that is 100% the pure fruit of the work begun in 2005.
A great and gratifying satisfaction that this wine conveys in every bottle.
