Each bush vine develops a deep taproot system that penetrates far into the soil, absorbing minerals and elements that impart unique characteristics to our wines.

The vineyards of Tenuta di Castellaro are planted at a high density, averaging 7,000 vines per hectare, with peaks of up to 9,000.

The alberello system has ancient origins, dating back to the Phoenicians even before the Romans, who introduced this technique to adapt grapevines to otherwise challenging climatic conditions.

Over time, this method has been refined, becoming a symbol of resilience and quality. In 2014, the alberello vine-training system was recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, in acknowledgment of its cultural and agricultural significance.

The dedication we devote at Tenuta di Castellaro to every stage of cultivation and production allows us to offer authentic wines that stand out for their uniqueness and excellence.

We often speak of “Contemporary Craftsmanship,” a concept that encapsulates Tenuta di Castellaro’s approach to viticulture: the use of both ancient and advanced technologies in the vineyard and cellar is aimed at enhancing the principles of traditional winemaking practices.

Respect for the environment, for people, and for tradition forms the foundations of Tenuta di Castellaro’s philosophy, a project focused on the valorization of human resources, integration with the territory, responsible use of natural resources, enhancement of the landscape, and deep respect for local history and culture.

The alberello training system itself, so methodical in its enological function, allows us to contribute to the harmony and order of the already unique landscape of the Aeolian Islands.

We invite you to discover the beauty of our vineyards in person. Come, experience and taste, the quality of our wines, the result of a millennia-old tradition and genuine passion.

[224

post-9686","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-en
["GET
