The eighth island

The eighth wonder: Etna

It is born at 750 meters above sea level, on the northern slope of Etna, where our work is crowned in the expression of pure millennial tradition.

Wines / L'Ottava isola
A clear denomination

A wine that is the island of the islands, the natural completion of a journey in the native Sicilian vines. Nerello Mascalese cultivated with Etna tree, as tradition dictates, for a red wine of fire and matter, enveloping and persuasive.

Long maceration of the wine with the skins and part of the whole bunches not destemmed. No clarification takes place, only static decantation and repeated racking to make the wine naturally clear.

Reviews / L'Ottava Isola

Typical olfactory profile drawn from the fruity traits of blueberries and blackcurrants, shrubs and lentisk flowers, rosemary, deep the magmatic mineral imprint with sweet spices and light toasting to make a side dish. The intense fresh savory progression and the well-smoothed tannins draw an elegant sip with a good end persistence rich in varietal and mineral echoes.

Reviews / L'Ottava Isola

Smoky and fragrant, captivating aroma that is mostly red fruited but not simple. Firm, chalky, lightly chewy texture with excellent freshness and dry mineral aftertaste thanks to definite but very fine dusty tannins. The tannins are in harmony but build in the mouth and suggest this is going to age very well. Long finish.
