Malvasia delle Lipari DOC

We have been waiting for it in the cellar for a while. Now our Malvasia delle Lipari DOC is ready and on the market again, with its new 2017 vintage.

Some prestigious restaurants have included it in the tasting menu combined with a Sicilian cassata, a crème caramel, or even a classic creme brulee. Here in Lipari we savor it with the local dry pastries, and particularly with the sesamini of Ms. Marisa, art pastry chef who resides a few hundred meters from our cellar.



Malvasia delle Lipari by Tenuta di Castellaro reminds of sensations of figs, apricot and resin, and caresses the palate with an unexpected brackish trail, able to really bring you very close to the umami taste. Vinifies and ages in barrique for one year. 18 months in the bottle follow. No filtering, only static decanting for natural clarification. A truly exciting wine, starting from the vineyard overlooking the sea from which the grapes that compose it come from. But we would like to talk to you about this on a future occasion...
