The result of a sunrise stroll and a sudden and deep-rooted love for the uncontaminated lands of the Aeolian Islands, Tenuta di Castellaro wine estate is a 360° hospitality and wellbeing project.
Opened in 2006, the estate’s main building is located in Quattropani on the only plain on the Aeolian Islands, which sits atop the age-old china clay caves.
Over the years various other parcels have been added to the estate, concentrated in two locations on the island – Cappero and the uplands of Castellaro: a total of 30 hectares of land, part of which planted with rootings grafted with Malvasia, Nero d’Avola, Carricante, Corinto and other typical native varietals of the Aeolian Islands, from which we produce, with dedication and pride, our white, red and rosé blends and our famous Malvasia delle Lipari straw wine.
Refined, innovative wines with unique flavours, born from an oenological project that represents one of the clearest examples of ‘heroic viticulture’: grown using the traditional and time-honoured Etna alberello cultivation system, and strictly organic, the grapes are the purest expression of an uncontaminated, nourishing land to which they pay tribute, translating all of its distinctive qualities in the best possible way.
